Welcome to Tonight’s Targets (“the Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and the choices available to you regarding your information. Tonight’s Targets is an astronomy observation planning application designed to help astronomers identify suitable imaging and observing targets.
Information We Collect (from registered users only)The Site may store information that you enter, including:
- Observing locations
- Observing Date and time
- Telescope information
- Camera information
- Favorite astronomical objects
- Application settings and preferences
This information is used solely to provide the functionality of the Site.
Email AddressesProviding an email address is optional. If you choose to register an email address, it is used only to:

- Associate your settings and preferences across multiple devices
- Allow synchronization of your saved configuration data

Data RetentionUser information is retained only as long as you allow it. Visit the registration page to remove your unregister. If you are having problems with registering/unregistering contact the developer in Cloudy Nights (StarsInArizona). Users may request removal of their registered information. When registration is removed, associated email address information and synchronized account data will be all be deleted from the Site’s storage systems, so all your registered devices will be back to using local storage only. Excepting where retention is required for security, legal, or operational purposes.
Cookies and Local StorageThe Site does not use cookies as they have a very limited lifespan on many platforms. Local storage is used to remember preferences and improve the user experience. You may remove it all by using the Reset All opton on the side bar menu or by clearing your browser's local storage.
These technologies may store information such as:
- User settings
- Observing locations
- Equipment selections
The Site is not directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Privacy PolicyThis Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page along with the updated revision date.
